Occupational Therapist Opportunity Detroit, MI (K-12 School Setting)
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide specialized services within a high school environment in Detroit, Michigan. This contract position is ideal for a passionate professional dedicated to supporting student development and success through targeted occupational therapy interventions. The role is onsite and involves working directly with students to enhance their academic and functional performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to the needs of high school students.
- Assess student abilities and develop individualized treatment plans to improve daily living and learning skills.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate therapy goals within the educational curriculum.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
- Participate in student meetings and contribute insights to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations related to occupational therapy and educational services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with valid state credentials.
- Experience working in school-based settings, preferably with high school students.
- Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy practices.
- Ability to work onsite consistently and engage directly with students and educators.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
- Candidates must be Occupational Therapists (COTAs are not eligible for this role).
